Solo parent family adventures
How it works
1
We start with a discovery call
I want to understand your family — who is travelling, what you are hoping for, and what your dream version of this trip looks like.
I research and build your itinerary
I dig into research - destinations, accommodation, flights, transfers, tours, activities and come back to you with a detailed plan built specifically around your family.
Nothing is locked in until you are happy. We work through the detail, adjust where needed, and make sure every part of the trip feels right before anything is confirmed.
We refine it together
I manage everything through to your return
Payment reminders, documentation, pre-departure briefing, and support while you are away. You travel knowing someone is looking after the details.

You are not on your own when you work with me
Whether your partner is working, you are a solo parent, or you simply want to take the kids on an adventure by yourself - travelling with children on your own is one of the most rewarding things you can do. It can also feel overwhelming trying to tackle it all on your own. That is exactly where I come in.
The trip you have been putting off
Many parents have a trip in their head that has been sitting there for a while - Japan with the kids, a Sydney escape, a week somewhere warm - but the idea of navigating it alone has kept it on the back burner. The entry requirements, the logistics, the language barriers, the "what if something goes wrong" feeling.
I help you work through all of it before you leave, I make sure nothing is missed and I am there if anything comes up while you are away. My clients tell me that knowing they could pick up the phone made all the difference. Not because they always needed to, but because knowing they could meant they could actually relax and enjoy the trip.
"Shelley produced a truly impressive and detailed itinerary. Every aspect of the brief was covered, and much more. Shelley listens, is highly organised, knowledgeable and so very kind and helpful. You exceeded expectations."

What travelling solo with kids involves and how I help
Talking through the nerves
Before you leave we go through everything that is worrying you. No question is too small. I would rather you ask me a hundred times than board a plane feeling anxious.
Entry requirements and timing
I tell you exactly what needs to be done, when to do it, and make sure nothing is missed. Visas, ETAs, health declarations, airline check-ins, handled before they become a last-minute panic.
Knowing what to expect on the ground
Local apps to download, transport directions, where to eat near your hotel, local laws you may not have considered, scams to be aware of. The knowledge that usually takes hours to find.
Someone to call when things get confusing
Someone in your corner when it matters I am responsive and available throughout your trip for the moments that need support like a change of plan, something confusing, a decision that needs a second opinion.
Destinations that work brilliantly for solo parent families
Some destinations are easier to navigate alone with kids than others. Here are some of my favourites
Japan
New Zealand
Australia
USA
Canada
Singapore
Cook Islands
Cruising
Reminders so nothing gets missed
I keep track of what needs to be done and when. If you are the kind of person who needs a nudge, I have got you.
Empowerment
Something shifts when you travel solo with your kids. The day may not always go to plan but you will handle it anyway. That confidence stays with you long after you are home.
